Why Use CBD?

Why CBD Should Be A Year Round Resolution

Here at Remedy Tree, we believe that using CBD could help you achieve some of the changes you have been looking for.

For a lot of us, the new year is a time to set the intentions of making a fresh start and implementing positive change. We often ask ourselves what changes we can make to truly live our best lives.

CBD may not help you magically lose five pounds, exercise more, quit smoking, or go to bed earlier, but we are hopeful that regular use of CBD can help change your life for the better.

Let’s take a look at why you should incorporate CBD into yours!

New Year, New You: Using CBD to Benefit your Daily Routine

Now that we are a few months into 2020, what are some of the changes you’d like to implement into your own life? In 2019, some of the most popular New Year’s resolutions people made included the following:

  • Eat healthier/diet (71%)
  • Exercise more (65%)
  • Lose weight (54%)
  • Save more/spend less (32%)
  • Learn a new skill or hobby (26%)
  • Quit smoking (21%)

Maybe you want to spend more time with friends and family or create new, more fulfilling relationships. Implementing more self-care so you can feel your best or creating a morning routine that helps the rest of your day run smoothly is often a popular choice. Maybe you want to travel more or make time to get to the gym daily.

Whatever your reasons for improvement are, we believe that making CBD a regular part of your routine could help improve other areas of your life. Here are a few reasons why CBD can help you stick to your wellness-based resolutions in 2020.

Could CBD Help You Achieve Your Goals?

No matter what your reasons for improvement are in the New Year, CBD could play a roll in helping you achieve these goals. No, it’s not magic , but it can play a significant role in your well-being.

This idea all has to do with the way CBD influences the endocannabinoid system (ECS). It has been detailed that the ECS is the most important physiological system in the body. The endocannabinoid system is key to maintaining homeostasis throughout the entire body. The ECS has an influence on muscle function, sleep, appetite, mood, and more. CBD positively influences the endocannabinoid system, supporting its normal functions.

Regular use of CBD can help support the systems within the body that give us the focus, energy and strength to stick to our goals. Making a commitment to use CBD, ultimately helps us to make a commitment to ourselves to better support our health and wellness.

When we feel good, we do better. Deciding to use CBD as part of our regular wellness routine offers the opportunity to bring balance to our bodies. It could also bring the support we need to inspire change in our lives.

Can CBD Be Used as Part of Your Workout Routine?

Despite knowing how beneficial regular exercise can be, many of us fail to meet the fitness goals we set out for ourselves year in and year out.

NFL players, PGA players, MMA fighters, MLB players and fitness enthusiasts nationwide have been making CBD part of their fitness routines. You can find stories from various athletes and how they have incorporated CBD into their training and racing routines.

You may consider supporting your pre and post-workout recovery with CBD. Many athletes are finding that adding CBD to a morning coffee or post workout smoothie to be beneficial after a long training session.

Could CBD Help You Keep Calm All Year Long?

Most of us experience stress on a regular basis, and we all know how it can impact your life. Introducing CBD into your routine might help.

CBD is commonly used by people because they say it helps them feel calm and relaxed. Replacing that daily stress with a calm, balanced feeling may have you looking towards your goals with a more stable approach.

Instead of feeling rushed or frantic, approach life with a calm mood, allowing you to better focus on what’s important to you. Think about increased productivity, improved sleep, better focus, less stress, increased productivity and more. With regular use of CBD, this could be your new normal.

Can CBD be the answer?

Believing in and using CBD might seem small, but it could inspire some significant changes. It may not be at the top of your list, but one that could impact your health and wellness for the better. We hope that we have given you a few reasons to consider giving it a try!

HOW TO READ A CBD THIRD PARTY LAB TEST

CBD Oil for Dogs

Securing third-party lab tests and making those results available for each individual product we offer is a commitment Remedy Tree takes seriously. Providing a premium CBD product means being committed to transparency and direct access to our CBD product lab tests.

This is common practice here at Remedy Tree, where we provide premium CBD products for people, pets as well as other businesses through our blank bottle and wholesale programs.

Here is a quick breakdown of how to read our CBD lab reports – the results from our labs and those from third-party labs.

Certificate of Quality Assurance (COA)

To begin, let’s start with the Certificate of Quality Assurance. The Certificate of Quality Assurance or COA is the document telling you exactly what is and isn’t in the product.

Initially you will see product information, including the manufacturing date, the lot number, and active and inactive ingredients. Below that, you’ll see an analysis of the bulk oil. The analysis shows you the terpenes, CBD content and physical attributes of our USA grown hemp oil.

The COA contains detailed information about the CBD oil we use to produce the product you and your pets ultimately consume in the form of tinctures, softgels, gummies, treats and more. It also shows buyers that Remedy Tree is in compliance with the 2018 Farm Bill.

CBD Third-Party Lab Reports

Finally, you’ll see the third-party reports. Third party reports reference the end product — the products you use at home, work and on the go.

There are a few detailed things you will want to understand in those reports:

Cannabinoid Content: This is a view into the isomers of CBD and THC. Some labs report ND or non-detectable for THC content. Other labs use <LOQ or Limit of Quantitation, meaning the test product did not contain enough of the ingredient for sensitive lab equipment to measure. For the product to be considered THC free, ND or <LOQ must be indicated.

Heavy Metals: The strictest rules in the country regarding heavy metals come out of Californina, these are the rules that Remedy Tree adheres to. Heavy metals including mercury, lead, cadmium and arsenic can be found in the soil or be present on manufacturing equipment.

Pesticides: Similar to THC measurement, you’ll see a reporting of <LOQ or ND if no pesticides are present. We test for 59 different pesticides and all of our hemp is grown in the USA without pesticides.

Microbiology: This covers microbial contamination. Remedy Tree abides by USP regulations in regards to limits on microbial and we focus on salmonella, E. coli, yeast and mold. Our lab testing looks at current contamination and the ability for those microbes to grow as the product sits on our shelves.

Why is CBD lab testing important?

To show that what is on the label is what is in the product.

Lab testing verifies a product’s safety and potency.

Providing direct access to our lab reports and being completely transparent are key to our foundation at Remedy Tree. We want to provide easy access to our lab reports on every product we sell. It all comes back to serving our customers with the highest quality products on the market!

How does CBD benefit Athletes?

As the acceptance of cannabis and CBD related products has become more mainstream, athletes are turning to an all natural approach in their training and recovery.
Found in the cannabis plant, CBD is a non-psychoactive property and the key ingredient for the medicinal properties of cannabis. The most common use of CBD is in the form of oil tinctures, capsules, gummies, and topical products. Athletes often subject their bodies to high training mileage that leads to injury, wear and tear and fatigue. At the end of a long training day, practice, or race is often when these elements are felt, usually impacting performance moving forward.

Is CBD legal for athletes?

Yes! In 2018, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) removed CBD from the list of banned substances – in or out of competition. Still prohibited from competition is the psychoactive component of marijuana, THC. As well as, synthetic cannabinoids. The specific language is: “The following cannabinoids are prohibited: Natural cannabinoids, e.g. cannabis, hashish and marijuana. Synthetic cannabinoids e.g. Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other cannabimimetics.”

One of the main reasons that CBD has become such a hot topic in the sports world is that many pro and retired athletes have begun advocating for more athletes to use CBD. There are many pro CBD athletes who are paving the way for other athletes to learn more about the options outside of prescription drugs to manage the damage training and racing can have on the body.

Exercise Activates The Endocannabinoid System

Recent research has shown us that the Endocannabinoid System also plays a role in exercise and sport.

For many of you, this might come as no surprise.

After all, recent research has shown us that endocannabinoids like anandamide may be responsible for causing that “runner’s high” we feel after working out.

The Endocannabinoid System is involved in many aspects of our body that researchers believe it plays a key role in “homeostasis.”

Homeostasis describes a state of balance that keeps the body functioning properly. This balance can include things like salt, sugar, protein, body temperature, water levels and oxygen.

There are still many things we don’t know about the ECS, CBD and other cannabinoids. However, one thing is clear: CBD is a great all natural approach to improving recovery.

Most athletes are looking for improvement in many areas. When we train and race, we push our bodies to the max,  which forces them to adapt and become stronger, faster and more efficient.

For example, the basic principle behind lifting weights:

Lifting heavy weights causes tiny tears in your muscle fibers.

Once we are done lifting, we are often sore, stiff, or tender the next few days. Your body then repairs this damagemaking your muscles bigger and stronger in the process. CBD can help alleviate these symptoms thanks to its strong analgesic properties.

What Are the Benefits of CBD?

There are many benefits that CBD can offer any athlete. The following are some of those benefits in more detail along with a comparison to over the counter medications (OTC) and why CBD as an all natural method may be a better choice.

Providing Relief

CBD is a great alternative to things like advil, bengay or lidocaine. Over the counter drugs can give a false sense of your ability to read when you are hurt or injured, often times creating brain fog. CBD is a much more effective way to combat discomfort or injury.

Improve Race-Day Nerves & Focus

Because of its strong anti anxiolytic properties, CBD is a great alternative to things like Prozac, Xanax and Zoloft. These prescription medications are harmful and habit forming with negative side effects.

Many athletes struggle with nerves on race day no matter how much time and energy goes into training. CBD may benefit athletes and provide improved race day focus and settled nerves.

Faster Recovery Time

Nagging injuries and substantial ones are sometimes part of being an athlete. Pushing our bodies to their limits takes its toll, and there is only so much stress our bodies can take. At some point we all go through things like plantar facsciitis, muscle soreness, tendonitis, etc. Injuries are inevitable.

Traditionally we have turned to things like Percoset, Vicodin and Naproxen. Choosing CBD will allow you to combat injuries as well as speed up recovery time, all without any harmful side effects.

NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen, can cause serious long-term side effects, despite the fact that they’re readily available to the public.

These side effects include:

  • Increased risk of strokes or heart attacks.
  • Heart issues.
  • Stomach and bowel problems, like ulcers and bleeding.
  • Liver damage.

CBD will help you get back to training and racing much faster than any OTC medication will. It is grown in the earth, not concocted in a lab. Hence, it is not hard to see why more athletes are choosing CBD to treat their injuries.

Does CBD affect the Immune System?

You spend weeks, months, even years working and training for an event and then right before go time, you get sick. Life as an athlete can be tough, your schedule revolves around training sessions, travel plans are made for races so you want to ensure that you’re immune system is functioning at its peak at all times. Enter CBD.

CBD is high in antioxidants, great for your heart health and helps lower your risk for infections. Staying healthy during peak training seasons, especially the winter months is crucial.

Can CBD Help You Sleep Better?

Our bodies do the most recovering when we are sleeping. But as an athlete, you probably knew that already. You probably also know that most people don’t get the right amount of sleep every night.

The Endocannabinoid System has been shown to play an important role in assisting us in getting more sleep and rest during the night.

Studies have shown, for example, that CBD can affect the sleep-wake cycle.

In 2016 the US National Institute of Health and Northeastern University did a study that showed stimulating endocannabinoid receptors can help improve sleep stability, especially during the non-REM stages of sleep.

Is CBD right for you?

Athletes lead lifestyles that require special products to meet their needs.

With many new studies and findings teaching us about the benefits of this all natural alternative, CBD is taking the athletic industry by storm. Remedy Tree offers many different types and potencies of CBD products perfect for any athlete.
